NutriPilot — Privacy Policy

NutriPilot ("the app") is a nutrition and weight-management app. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how it is handled. The app is operated by Marius Andron ("we", "us"). Contact: marius.andron@altium.net.

Data we collect

• Account data: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash) to create and sign in to your account.
• Profile & health data: the information you enter — sex, date of birth, height, weight and weight history, goals, and everyday activity level — used to calculate your personalized calorie and macronutrient targets.
• Meal & activity logs: meals you log (name, calories, macros, time) and any exercise/activity you record.
• Meal photos: when you use the photo feature, the photo is sent to our server and to our AI analysis provider solely to estimate the food and its nutrition. Photos are not stored on our servers. A copy of photos you add may be kept only on your device (the local "photo history"), and never leaves your phone except for the one-time analysis.

How we use your data

• To provide the core features: calculating targets, logging meals, tracking weight, and analyzing meal photos.
• To authenticate you and keep your data separate from other users.
• We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data.

Third-party processing

• Anthropic (Claude AI): meal photos and meal descriptions you submit for analysis are sent to Anthropic's API to generate nutrition estimates. They are processed to return a result and are not used to build a profile of you within the app. See Anthropic's privacy terms for their handling.
• Fly.io: our backend and database are hosted on Fly.io infrastructure.

Storage & security

• Your data is stored in a Postgres database with per-user row isolation.
• Sensitive biometric values (weight, height, target weight) are encrypted at the column level.
• All traffic between the app and our server uses HTTPS.

Your choices & rights

• Reset your data: you can clear all logged meals and weight history from within the app (Profile → Reset my data).
• Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app (Profile → Delete account). This cannot be undone.
• You may also contact us at the email above to request access to or deletion of your data.

Children

NutriPilot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
